Project Won't Open

My Project was working yesterday I zipped it and backed it up and now it wont open?

I’ve attached the file here,

Please this is my Final year in college project I really need to figure out why it wont open.

Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi Malteaser,

First, make sure to back these files up and/or make a copy of your project.

Try moving the Intermediate and Saved folders out of the main project folder. Then try opening the project.

If that doesn’t work, try removing the Config folder and do the same thing.

Let me know if either of those work or not.

Thanks for your reply.

I moved the intermediate and Saved folders and the project wouldnt open.

When I removed the Config as well as the others it opened but If I try to open my levels or blueprints it then crashes.

Okay, after removing the Config folder, the project will recreate it but it’s reset to it’s default state. The Config folder holds the files that save the options you chose in things like Project Settings, Editor Preferences, etc. Do you remember what changes you made?

If so, you may be able to make those changes again and stop the crash. Something obviously depends heavily on those changes.

I figured out what the problem was, MyCharacter blueprint was the issue, so I went into the backup in the Saved folder and copied that then deleted the old character and It managed to fix the issue.
