Post Process Effect Film -> Contrast does not work anymore

Hey guys,

after i upadted to 4.11 if figured out, some of my projects look pretty pale. First thought its something with the Post Process. And yeah i tested now 2 different Projects. A new 4.11 one and and updated to 4.11. Both have the same Issue.

Inside the Post Process Setting → Film → Contrast do not work anymore. (see Picture below).
Problem is at the Post Process Effect at all. Camera, Volumes etc.

Hey Spaehling,

I just tested this issue on my end and did not get the same results you are reporting. Below I have attached some screenshots of the example test I ran in a 4.11.2 project.

Low Contrast

High Contrast

Make sure your post process volume either has its bounds surrounding your current scene/camera to see the effect, or have it set to ‘Unbound’. Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.

Cheers,

Hey Andrew,

okay thats a bit confusing. yeah i made sure, everything is set up correct. I posted 3 other pictures, to show it better.
unbound is defintily on and works. same with saturation. just the contrast does not work.

well lets say something could be went wrong on downloading the engine. Best thing is redownloading 4.11.2 and check out what happens. Cause its on all of my projects.

Is this possibly a project you upgraded to 4.11.2 from a previous version of the engine?

Have you tried it in a new blank project?

From my first post “And yeah i tested now 2 different Projects. A new 4.11 one and and updated to 4.11. Both have the same Issue.”

yes i tried both. updated and from scratch. both the same. I try the engine re-download tonight and report tomorrow

Hey again,

the re download of the engine did not helped :-/ still the same on a new project and on the updated onces.
do you have any idea what else i can check or do?

Try deleting your projects ‘Saved’ and ‘Intermediate’ folders to see if there are any bad references or pointers that are prevent your post process volume to account for Contrast.

nope that didn’t helped aswell. Maybe another idea? Well i can try to avoid it, but well i try to get bit more deeper into it. maybe if find something else.

Honestly, you might need to do a clean re-install of the engine. You might have a missing or corrupt .ini file that isn’t allowing you to use the ‘Contrast’ option.

Hey bro,

a friend of mine found the solution. it was pretty dump. It was on the oldest and classic problems you can imagine xD

iam pretty sure, cause i have serveal projects with a main menu, where you can setup your graphic settings, that i turned it off once and did not reactivated it and then updated the engine and i thought it was an engine update problem. Everything elese was on Epic, so i wasn’t able to realize it instantly.
anyway, epic fail from my side

it was just turned off inside engine settings -.-

Edit: closing the thread was a mistake. but not able to reopen it again.
