Crash with and Sequencer

Two things that I discovered. First, and I think this is a know issue: When the is connected, you can only have one instance of the editor running at a time. If you open a different project, it will shut the first one down, without notice, and unsaved changes are lost.

The second issue I encountered was with a project not involving VR, but with the headset connected to the computer, as soon as I tried to scrub in a sequence, the editor would crash.

Disconnecting the headset resolved the problem.

The above issues happened with both 4.11 and 4.12

Cheers,

Sterling

Hello SterlingY,

You are correct, the first issue is a known issue (UE-29485) that has been reported and submitted to the developers for further consideration. After reading over the report, it appears that this issue is caused by Steam VR forcing the process to close. This means that a solution for this issue is most likely out of our hands. As for the second issue, I was unable to reproduce this issue on our end. I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of how you have setup your sequencer?

I prepared myself for the long haul to try and replicate in a blank project, but it’s quite simple.

is connected and SteamVR is off

Create blank project
imported animated character and added to level(probably not required)
Created sequence
Added above character to sequence
Added Shot Track
Added Camera to level
Added above camera TO shot track (BOOM)

In my case with my project, I believe the crash occurs simply because I already have cameras in the sequence.

Let me know if there are other questions

Good luck!
