Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Jagged Lightmaps with High Lightmap Resolution

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with baked lighting. The majority of my lightmaps are coming out very jagged and unappealing. I have increased the lightmap resolution on one of the meshes and it does begin to fix the issue but I have to crank it up to 256/512 and beyond (which I understand is quite high for a lightmap, or am I wrong there?) my worry is that I'm going to end up with all the lightmaps in my scene being obscenely high and very inefficiet. Is there something I'm missing here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It depends on how big the asset is so scale the map size appropriately. At times I had it set to 2048 or even higher for world maps. Small things small maps, big things big maps. :)

Is your lightmap build quality setting at preview or something higher? That might also help if you bump it up (though it does take longer)
