HTC Vive Arm Rig

Alright, so I am working on a small VR project with the HTC Vive, and at the moment I am attempting to set up some arms in the game. Usually, this wouldn’t be so hard. But I am trying to link each hand to a controller, so as you move your hands around, the proper hand moves, separate of the other.

The rig I am using for the arms is one solid piece, and unfortunately that is non-negotiable (from the boss). Its rigged with a great skeleton and I was thinking of using IK handles to bend the arms as the controller moves around, and maybe binding the controllers to a bone, but I haven’t found much info on how to do this.

But my Unreal knowledge is still fledgling and I am unsure if this is the best way or maybe I’ve missed this type of work somewhere else. Any suggestions on what I should do? Any idea’s on where I could find some resources to work with? Any help would be great. My deadline is looming.

Thanks guys

Hi Kvothe218,

I was simply wondering if you found answers to your problem. I’m having the very same issue for my project (with Oculus, in my case) and I can’t find any information about it.

Many thanks.

Hi was looking for the same thing. For now I stumbled on this

It is suggested to look at the code of the daydream SDK. If you get something working let me know
