Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How to set up a completely dark environment with 1 spotlight?

Hello guys,

I'm struggling with Lighting! What I'm aiming to achieve is a completely dark scene, practically empty with just an object on the ground and a spotlight above it - no sky sphere or such. I can't seem to find the right setup. The only way I managed to make my scene dark was by deleting the fog. But then, consequently, my spotlight didn't work anymore.

Glad for any hints!

You are probably being thrown off by the skybox and fog stuff included in the default levels. Try making a blank level completely (File -> New Level -> Empty Level) then add a ground, a player start and a spot light. You should see solid black with a small spot of darkness.

Now note: sometimes if no light is in the scene at all the viewport will auto-swap to unlit mode to be helpful.
