Maya to UE4 animation, bones not moving

Hi there
I have a problem with my animations. In Maya the animation plays fine and as expected. When I import to UE4, the mesh doesnt move. There is a warning message after exporting from Maya but Ive gotten those in the past and never had an issue like this before. At first I thought this had something to do with How i set the character up for modular components but I when I exported all his pieces and skeleton as one FBX i had the same issue. According to UE the imported animation is only 2 frames long. I think something is happening during the export from Maya but i cant be certain. I am usng Maya 2015 and UE4.11. Does anyone have any idea what I can try or at least why this is happening.
