Heart Rate Monitor Health
I am looking for a bit of guidance in how best to do a heart rate monitor health system, whereby there is a electrocardiogram (heart rate monitor) on the HUD that changes slightly based on the players health and status, e.g when the player dies it flat lines, or when the player is sprinting it beats faster.
I figured a simple approach might be to do it as a flipbook texture using a basic sprite sheet, but I wasn't sure if this would be a good approach. I also though about maybe using an animation video (say from after effects) but I havent done this in the past so wasn't really sure if this was feasible.
Basically, any kind of advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Warning: lot's of math involved: https://www.google.gr/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=heartbeat%20graph%20equation I suggest you go through all the results of the first and second page and then determine how you are going to set up your material and which stuff you are going to promote as parameters.
