Retarget third person mannequin animations to first person mannequin hands
Currently, I'm trying to retarget a third person animation from the animation starter pack to the first person hands provided by the first person template. Since the rigs seem to me identical, I thought this retarget would be without problems. So I tried to retarget "Reload_Rifle_Ironsights" to the first person hands with these poses:
But then at some frame in the animation the hands start to look like this:
I also tried lowering the pose of the first person hands to make them have more the same height as in the source, but that gave the same result.

I had so much trouble with this for a while. It turns out if you go to the Skeleton tree, towards the top there is a checkbox that says "show advanced options" when you click that, every bone will have 4 choices for translation retargeting. Most of the bones in the mannequin skeleton are set to "Skeleton" while the Arms skeleton are set to "Animation". If you go in the advanced options in the Arms skeleton, and change all the bones except for root and pelvis to Skeleton for their translation type, that will fix the problem.
