Google VR (Cardboard+Daydream+SDK)

Hi, last week I watched all (or almost) the Google I/O conferences about VR and i’ve got some few questions.

Will you now be able to get the Google cardboard SDK or knowing that you will have Daydream platform it will automatically downgrade to Cardboard if the user doesn’t get the right specs?

And how come there is no Google VR SDK for Unreal and only for Unity?

Thank You

Is there any update for this question? I have been struggling for a week trying to get Daydream running with Unreal.

Did you try the DayDream Quick Start guide?
https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Platforms/GoogleVR/QuickStart/index.html

Thanks, that’s where I started out, but those instructions are a bit incomplete and a tad dated (it assumes the latest Android SDK API version is 21, e.g.)
I did make a little progress, however: daydream controller
In the end, I might be forced to switch to Unity since there is little support from Epic in general as it appears Daydream is too new a platform.

Cardboard will be used if the device does not support Daydream if you export for deployment mode: “Daydream & Cardboard”

The SDK is included in UE4. There are some docs about it now on the google site: https://developers.google.com/vr/unreal/daydream-in-unreal
