UE4.12 Missing Some Target Platforms

I just installed UE4.12 yesterday and it appears that I am missing target platform options. When I installed it there was not an option for Windows or Mac platforms. After it installed I checked the package options and there is no option for Linux or Windows which is weird considering its different from what I saw at install. Anyone have any ideas what is going on here? I am working on a Mac if that makes a difference, it usually does.

Hey jman2015-

The option to package for Windows is not available on Mac (package for Mac is not available on Windows either). However the Linux option not being available is an issue and I have entered a bug report, UE-31562 , for investigation.

Cheers

Is there a legal reason for this? I know Apple has a lot of restrictions like this so I guess I can’t say I’m surprised by it. One of the reasons I don’t like Mac. But I don’t have a choice as its what I was given by my work. So to support Linux, Mac, and Windows PC’s I need to have at minimum UE installed on a Mac machine and a Windows machine correct? And are there packaging restrictions like this for mobile?

To answer your question yes, you would need both machines to cover all three bases. Mobile packaging should not have any issue, iOS and Android packaging is available on both Mac and Windows.

I have the same problem. I am on Windows platform and there’s no option as Mac or Windows. Both are missing

Hey Harbiyeli-

Are you referring to not seeing Windows/Mac inside the Package Project dropdown or the check box options not appearing in the Installation Options?

I don’t see Windows as a target platform whilst on a Windows machine. The only options are IOS/Android/HTML5/Linux/TVOS.

I want to dev for deployment on Steam and PS4 (which I’m sure you have to get a license from Sony to do so), but I don’t see Windows.

Hey Ridiculous-

Are you referring to the Options dropdown from the launcher or the list available in File->Package Project inside the editor? If you’re looking at the Options from the Launcher, then Windows not showing up on a Windows machine would be expected since Windows is included by default.
