Editor crash when selecting maps - modes

Hi All,

I’ve had a look at some steps regarding this and can’t find my answer.

BUILD TYPE: Binary build from UE4 Launcher

BUILD VERSION: Version: 4.10.4-2872498+++depot+UE4-Releases+4.10

Description:

I’ve paused the development pipeline on our commercial development project because when I select Project Settings > Maps - Modes the editor crashes.

I’ve been wanting to have the level my Lead Programmer/ Team has been working on as the default level load.

My Lead Programmer confirms on his side the level we want to load is loading but not mine on my end, we are using the same UE4 4.10.

I’ve sent the crash report.

I’ve cloned the same project and accessed cloned project. In the cloned project I am able to get into Project Settings Maps and Modes without a crash. When I am inside the cloned project and select the level I want as the first level to load it always reverts back to some other level when i refresh the project load open.

Now back to the original project that crashes:

Also noticed under Project Settings > Description > Project ID has all zeros whereas the cloned projects from the project that always crashes has my studios info populated in that section.

Screen is of the level that’s always loading across all the same projects. We want out own level to load but it never has since we commenced development.

We use Perforce and I confirm there is no issue with Perforce versions.

I’ve paused development across my time while this is under investigation. If you require any further details please let me know ASAP.

Recent crash log send when crash editor was at 8:38pm Australian Eastern Standard time on 02/06/2016 if you need a reference to when I submit it recently.

Hi Brancoq,

  • Does this occur in a clean, blank project with no additional content or is it limited to one project?
  • What steps can I take to reproduce this error on my end?
  • Have you tried moving the map in question to a new project to see if you can open it there?
  • Can you provide the crashing project so I can see what may be occurring?

Hi ,

Thanks for responding.

No it doesn’t occur in a clean blank project.

I downloaded 4.11.2, migrated the level into a fresh project.
No issues.

The only issue now is reconnecting the blueprints from the crashing project, my programmer is doing that now as we had to keep working on the development.

I am certainly happy to provide you the crashing project so you may see what could be occurring. We would be curious ourselves as well.

I have the crashing project as a , what is the most convenient way to provide this to you?

Thanks

Hi ,

I have an update!

One of my team members reported their Plugin Folder was excluded from being synced through Perforce.

This in turn impacted my project file.

We have since migrated to 4.11.2 and made sure that all relevant folders are syncing through Perforce. No issues to report.

Can close this off and thank you for your offer of assistance.

I’m happy to hear this is no longer occurring for you. I will mark this as answered for tracking purposes.
