Destructible mesh not destructing

argh - please help, brand newbie here so please cover basics.

i’m trying to make a destructible mesh so that it breaks apart when another actor crashes into it, however that isn’t happening. i have no idea where to even begin to fix it or what settings to have for either of the actors. please help!

i was having a look at this before but i know so little about ue4 that i don’t even know where to begin. i’m sorry i’m being so vague

If you’ve created a basic destructible and not changed any settings in the destructible mesh editor it’s not likely to work. You’ll need to open the destructible from the content browser, fracture it, and enable some options like Impact Damage so that it fractures on impact.

This may help as well. On my personal site I have a Destructibles test map that breaks down all the settings for Destructibles and how they work that may help you out. You can open each of the destructible actors by themselves to look at the settings used. You can find it here.
