Should I put my projects elsewhere seeing that a special character may cause problems?

Looking at this question tells me that the “é” in the filepath to my documents is what’s causing my thumbnails to not display properly (picture).

Since my projects are in the default location (In my case: “C:\Users\Cédric\Documents\Unreal Projects”) which contains the character “é”, does that cause problems other than the thumbnails thing?

Also, can I move the marketplace examples I have downloaded to a different folder and have the launcher know without having to re-download?

Thank you.

Hi Lemonader,

Which version of UE4 are you currently running?

I’m running 4.1.0.

This is a known issue from a few weeks ago and our developers were looking into it, but it is showing that it was fixed in version 4.1.1. Try updating to the newest version and let me know how it goes. If its still an issue, we will keep looking into it.

Thanks, TJ

Didn’t even know there was a 4.1.1…
I downloaded it, redownloaded Tappy Chicken and also created a new project to check if the thumnails were OK, still all white :/.

Don’t worry about taking your time, I can still put all my projects in “C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\Projects” or something like that.
