Launcher Begins to Crash when opened

Hi everyone.
It had been awhile sense I opened the launcher with the internet connected; however I did so today. When I closed the launcher and attempted to reopen it I got a crash message. I’ve even restarted my computer and disconnected the internet and it still sends me a crash message and refuses to open.

my computer specs:

OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2

2.9 GHz Interl Core i5 Processor

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024MB graphics.

this is the first time something like this has happened and I don’t know why?
