Massive framerate drop when editor is in foliage mode

When I preview my game and the UE4 editor is in Foliage mode, my framerate drops to about 20fps.

I have about 300 instanced foliage actors in my level. I don’t know if it makes any difference whether there is actual foliage placed into the scene.

When I switch from the foliage mode to placement mode, my framerate returns to a normal rate.

If I look at my GPU performance visualizer while foliage mode is active, there are about 19 scene renders.

I am not getting the same issue appear on my end. I always try to remember not to play in Foliage Edit mode as this enables a translucent brush in the viewport and has a bit different functionality.

Could you provide me with either a test project or some repro steps with some screenshots so I can get the issue to appear on my end?

Could you also provide me with your ‘dxdiag’ so I can take a look at your system specifications?
