Are black spots after lighting bake supposed to happen?

I’m using 4.12, just adding assets to a new project to make sure they’re okay. It’s the default scene when you create a new map with one square tile. I add an asset, build the scene and random black smudges are all over it. My UV maps have no overlapping faces.

I’m sure I can’t be the only person still running into this as I’ve seen some older threads from 2013 with the same issue. I like consistency. So if you have a method that 100% works for making sure this never happens please feel free to share it with me. I’m sick of the constant reimporting to see if I’ve fixed my issue.
