Although there is an option in the right-click context menu within a Behavior Tree for “Create Comment from Selection” when multiple nodes are selected, clicking this option does not create a Comment Box. Tested by selecting a variety of combinations of types of nodes, but none result in creating a Comment Box.
Also successfully crashed the editor while testing by attempting to copy/paste a Comment Box from a Blueprint into a Behavior Tree. Bug was submitted. (First line from callstack: UE4Editor_BehaviorTreeEditor!UBehaviorTreeGraph::UpdateAsset() [d:\build++ue4+release-4.12+compile\sync\engine\source\editor\behaviortreeeditor\private\behaviortreegraph.cpp:109].)
Minor issues since they only deal with usability/organization and not Behavior Tree functionality, but worth reporting. As a general feature request it would be nice to have some of the other organization controls that exist in the Blueprints in addition to the Comment Boxes, such as distribution and alignment of nodes.
I have been able to reproduce your crash, and have entered a bug report, UE-31781. I have also reproduced your issue with the Create Comment from Selection option. and have entered UE-31786.
I have also entered a feature request for the ability to use blueprint organization features in behavior trees, UE-31784.
I am using Unreal 4.13 and can’t get the “Create Comment from Selection” option to work in the Behavior Tree. Has this feature been silently removed without removing the context menu option?
Ahà! That was it, I was pressing C as usual and also right-clicking on the void or something. Maybe it should be consistent with the how comments in blueprint are made. But thanks! Solved my issue.
