[4.11.2] 3D UMG Interaction bug

Whenever I interact with a button in a 3D UMG widget, it drops the mouse out of the game, and I need to click back into the game to regain control. Another thing is that sometimes if I regain control, or do not click back into the game properly, the mouse goes away (like it should) but it is bound to the window, and I am unable to look around properly. It’s a little hard to fully describe what the actual issue is, but there seems to be an issue with the 3D widgets when interacting with them.

I understand that this feature is still experimental, but I am curious as to what is being done with the functionality of this feature and/or what ways are possible to get around these issues.

Have you tried using the nodes available for controlling input settings (Set Input Mode UI only, Set Input Mode Game Only, and Set Input Mode Game and UI). These will allow for greater control over your input modes.

I discovered that 3D UMG widgets do not work properly when you use the “UI Only” node. My best guess is because a 3D widget isn’t UI anymore at that point. I’ve fixed the issue, so, my assumption that it was a bug is invalid.
