Will there be more support for Maya LT?

Hello im asking if Unreal Engine 4 will try and support Maya LT for indie projects and those of us that cant buy Maya and dont want to use Blender. i like Maya LT and would like to use it just as easy as you can use the full Maya, for meshes and all the import and export and maybe somthing like A.R.T… just would like to know from someone who knows if UE4 is going to try and support Maya LT like what they do with the full version of maya?

Maya LT is supported since you can export you work as an FBX file. FBX is the main file format that you can import in the Unreal Engine 4. It supports meshes and animation.

Hi thank you for the info! but i was kinda asking is there going to be any UE4 plug-ins and other such development for Maya LT?

I don’t think so. As for regular 3DS Max and Maya, there is no plugin dedicated to the Unreal Engine.

Are you looking for a specific feature ?

Kinda. I was just checking to see if there would be some plugins for maya LT in the future like how The full version has A.R.T. It seems very handy.

Ha I see. Well the ART rely on python scripting which is not supported in Maya LT as far I’m aware. I doubt there will be any change to that. Other type of plugins (C++) need to be approved by Autodesk for Maya LT, and rewriting a plugin take a lot of time.

So it’s more an Autodesk limitation rather than an Epic Games one. But who knows, one day maybe ?

aww too bad. Thanks anyways and do you know any handy plug-ins or tools for maya LT or UE4? for creating good static mesh.

Well, not that I want to promote myself, but I created some mel scripts in my spare time and a lot of people seems to like them. One of them will not work on Maya LT (because of python), but the other should : http://www…fr/tools.html

Other than that, try doing some search over here, there is a lot of good scripts : Highend 3D - Scripts / Plugins compatible with Maya

WOW very impresiv stuff way to go. i would love to be able to sculpt stuff like you do… lol i want to ask so many things lol as i just started useing UE4 and everything like a week ago and know nothing and am having a hard time finding info on the kinds of things that you have made
