Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How to update UE4 in Linux

Hello, I have compiled the game engine from source for Linux, but it was a long time ago. I now have an outdated version of UE (UE 4.8)
In windows one would simply click on 'update' in the launcher and be done with it.
In Linux, however, there is no launcher.
So how do i update it?
Do i really have to compile it from source every time theres a new update?

Product Version: UE 4.8

For right now yes, until we get static builds from unreal, Though I am considering building an appImage that you can just download if we are allowed to distribute compiled builds.

The only way you would be allowed to distribute it would be guarded by the engines EULA. Check out the sharing hub (https://wiki.unrealengine.com/GitHub_Sharing_Hub) you could use the same idea but with download from a gtihub engine fork.
