Editor keeps crashing at 35% on mac

Hi, i’ve been looking through other threads for the solution to this problem and i found various fixes and answers but none of them seems to be working for me.
I’m using a late 2013 iMac running on El Capitan’s latest version: 10.11.6, my graphic board is an Intel iris pro 1536 which is supposed to support openGL 4.1.
I’ve tried closing every Unreal process in the activity page and deleting the DerivedDataCache but it’s still crashing on that 35%…
when it crashes this report comes up:

Hi ,

  • Does this occur in a clean, blank project with no additional content or is it limited to one project?
  • Are you launching the editor using the launcher, the .uproject, or an editor.exe?
  • Have you tried verifying your engine build? To do so, go to the Launcher>Library>Engine version dropdown context menu and select verify. This will check your engine version for missing or damaged files and repair/replace them as needed.
  • What are the exact steps you are taking to reproduce this crash?

I’ve tried verifying the engine build and it downloaded some data, unfortunately it crashed again at 35%.
I am just trying to start Unreal engine, i’m not yet opening or creating a project…
I have downloaded the .dmg installer from the official mirror on the site, after installing it i get the Epic Games Launcher app and from that i just downloaded the engine and started it from the top-left yellow button… i don’t know if from the mac i have another way of launching the editor.

I’ve tried deleting the 4.12 version and installing an older one. 4.10 seems to be working just fine
