How can I create netting that behaves physically accurately?

I modeled this static mesh in Blender using the cloth simulation for the netting, but I want to have the net react when something collides with it.

I looked into Apex, but I was having some trouble with the standalone tool. Also, from what I read, it didn’t seem like Apex cloth reacted to dynamic world objects.

Is that correct? If so, does anyone have any other ideas?
