Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Wrong tooltip in the material editor

I've been messing around with foliage and LODs, and I noticed that the tooltip of the checkbox "Dithered LODTransition" (notice that it also has a space missing) says "Wether the material should support a dithered LOD transition when used with the foliage system".

From what I've gathered here in the answer hub, the foliage system always have dithered LODs and cannot be disabled. That checkbox only affects to static meshes. So I guess the description is wrong? It was a little bit confusing.

Besides, the documentation is still outdated and don't mention that and other newer settings in the material editor.

Greetings!

Hello PacoChan,

Thank you for pointing this out and taking the time to write up the report. I have entered a bug report as the tooltip is indeed misleading. For tracking purposes the bug number entered is UE-32361.

Once the issue has been addressed by our engineers, the fix will be added to the release notes for fixed issues within an upcoming full engine or hotfix release.

Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.

Cheers,

Andrew Hurley
