Does UE4 support all android devices?

Does UE4 support all android devices ?? like can we upload UE4 games to android devices from oldest device to the latest ?

There minimum requirements on GPU, heres offical compatibility list:

But keep in mind GPUs lacking here does not mean non-supported, rether non-tested so you would need to check, also in road map theres support for lower GPUs.

When are you going to add more Android phones? 4.2,4.3.

I agree on that question , we should know these things before if we want to make an android game

Keep in mind those are just epic tested GPUs, other may work. Theres lowend GPU optimalization in road map withou traget month.

Is 4.2 going to support all Android phones???

No body knows :stuck_out_tongue: you have issue wih perticular GPU/Phone?

Yes, it is a Droid 2(Motorola). When I push the apk file over to the phone, it says some of the files cannot be installed on the phone. How ever did get to finally work using Unity 4.5.

Take a look at this link

It tells you why it can’ be pushed?

Hello,

As Ben stated in this post:

We do not currently have many “Officially Supported” models, but if a phone has a strong enough GPU it will probably work for that as well. If you compare the Adreno 330 (The Nexus 5 GPU) to the PowerVR SGX530 (Droid 2) you will see that the PowerVR has a much weaker GPU.

There are plans to expand support as has stated. The best way to have that expedited would be to vote up this post:

That will let our developers know what the community wants more focus put toward.

Is 4.2 going to support all Android phones?

In 4.2 we plan on implementing a lot of updates, fixed and additions, but if you look at the trello board you will see that Android support is not planned to be expanded a lot in the immediate future. When we start expanding officially supported mobile devices, it will probably be in waves and not all at once also.

We do have a team of people working on it, but there are a lot of hardware limitations that we have to build around to make UE4 work for those older models. This is really important to us, so you will probably see more announcements about Android support in the coming months.

I hope that helps to clarify.

Please help as to understand. On your website you encourage android developers move to unreal engine 4. I know even version 4.7.5 has no support for variety of graphic devices such as Vivante, Mali, PoverVR. Third-party (China) phone and tablet developers has also problems to run Unreal Engine. Even best hardware often has Black Screen. Previously UDK3 Epic Citadel has run even on cheapest device give us about 60 FPS. It is hard to predict which device are best suites for new engine. Unreal Engine 4 is long time in development maybe it’s time to make compatible it to other hardware. It’s not a good for customers purchase the game and test it by them self. Please remove Mali 400 from supported list of devices it’s only runs TappyChicken using unlit shader. I have many artifacts with alpha channel and sheders. Hi ,

I was not able to locate a part of our wiki or documentation that says that there is support for Mali-400 devices. If you could point me to the specific page you saw that on, I can make sure it is investigated and updated.

Thanks!
