4.12 Planar Reflections way off in VR

Planar Reflection actor in scene.
Reflections look fine in Standalone desktop mode, but in VR (I`m using an Oculus Rift cv1) the reflections are way off (see screenshot)

Any ideas ? Planar reflections not compatible with VR ?

can’t test this now, but i had the same thing with regular ssr reflections and the reflections being off had to do with the fact that I did a sg.EffectsQuality 1 in my console to get the 90frames I need for the Oculus
edit: tested with planar reflections and even at sg,EffectsQuality 3 the discrepancy is still there … reflections way off when head tilted. basically rendering planar reflections unusable for VR

Just noticed the problem in 4.13.1 with DK2. Quite an important feature for my project, without the Planar reflections the scene doesn’t look as near as good as with them.

No, unfortunately not, will probably have to wait for a solution that works in VR from Epic, this goes beyond my knowledge.

UE4 currently does not support planar reflections in stereo. Not sure when this will be fixed.

Looks like planar reflections in stereo will be supported in 4.14.

Tested with 4.14 Preview 1 and indeed reflections are working great now! :slight_smile:

Tipp: If you see artifacting on the edges of the screen in VR, you can tweak the “Extra FOV” value to fill your field of view.
