Is there a Spring Constraint available in UE4?

Hi,

UE4 seems to have limited support of physics. Is there a spring constraint available?

Having some fun making constraint-based vehicle before 4.2 release, so far i’m really missing suspension-type constraints.

Oh okay so i found out, just had to configure linear drives properly.


Just unlock Z motion, enable velocity/position drive and set spring/damping properties. 2000 of spring is enough to make stiff suspension of 1.5 ton body.

I’m glad you found the solution. Just in case anyone else has this same issue, if you have time would you mind posting how to configure the Linear Drives or perhaps just a screenshot?

I no longer see some of these settings in 4.10 and the documentation doesn’t appear to be updated. I can’t replicate the spring-like behavior, how are these new settings meant to be used?

Seems like there’s an even newer flavor now in 4.14. I got this to work using two default cubes and the linear limits above
