iOS Tappy Chicke vs Blank Project

I’ve spent all day trying to figure out what it is but I just can’t seem to achieve Tappy Chicken levels of performance on my iPad Mini.

I’ve tried turning off the Mobile HDR, Post Process Volume with everything turned off (set to unbound), Copied all of the Device Profiles from Tappy Chicken to my Blank Project etc. etc.

If I run Tappy Chicken via Xcode, I get pretty decent CPU/GPU Utilisation for an iPad2

If I run a totally empty scene (started from the Blank Project) I get very poor CPU/GPU Utilisation. If I do something as simple as adding a light etc. I get terrible CPU/GPU 100ms worse.

Is it possible to get some insight into what Tappy Chicken is doing? I have scoured Project Settings and everything in the Scene and I just can’t find it.

Why is blank scene hitting CPU so hard?

OK the trick was to choose ‘Set As Default’ on the Mobile HDR setting and not just turn it off.

Better yet I have set “r.mobileHDR” to 0 on the iOS part of the Device Profiles and make it 1 for iPad Air/ iPad Mini2 and iPhone 5s
