Why does UE4 crash at 35% on launch for Macbook Pro OS X 10.11.5?

I have UE4 4.12 and the first crash I experienced was when I tried to proportionatley scale a sphere to a very large area. Ever since that crash occured I have been unable to open up the software. It always CRASHES AT 35%. I have a Macbookpro OSX 10.11.5 with a 2.3 Ghz Intel core i7, Memory 8gb, Graphics: Intel HS Graphics 4000 1536 MB.

I tried to open UE4 editor from the epic games launcher and from the porject itself wich is stored on a 2tb external hard drive. And it crashed still.

This looks like corrupted Boot.ddc file:

…so it’s most likely it encountered an invalid data inside of the file and performed a seek outside of its boundaries.

Delete that file and re-starting the editor.
