Distance Field AO is causing strange shadows with high multiplier

Hi All,

I have created a large indoor/outdoor scene and I wanted to use distance field AO to help with shadow casting, but it is causing some strange issues.

As you can see above, I am getting some dark blotchy spots in the corner and the middle of the wall. I have tried to increase the distance field AO resolution multiplier to 6 for most of the assets, but it doesn’t help very much.

I also get these blotchy reflections on the cabinets and the stack of wheels next to the cabinets.

Above you can see the really dark shadows and strange reflections on the lower metal pieces of the bar. I have tried increasing the distance field multiplier to 6 for each asset and it has little to no effect. I had previously been working on this project in 4.10 but I moved it to 4.12 so I could use the new sequencer. I was able to fix this issue in 4.10 but I’m not sure why this is happening now or how I fixed the issue previously.
