Possible to make a translucent material cast a shadow as opaque?

Hey there!

I am trying to figure out how my translucent material can cast a shadow as opaque material?

I got a Dungeon Wall which gets translucent when the player steps behind it (i switch the material of the wall to a translucent version, and back to normal when the player steps out behind the wall). Now my problem is the the wall stops casting a shadow when the translucent material is put on. Is there a way to have the translucent material cast the same shadow as my normal material?

I know I’m resurrecting a very old topic, but it’s something I’ve always wondered : why can’t we just cast a shadow like an opaque material ? It would allow to use it on movable actors.
Does someone know some trick to achieve this ?
