Destructible mesh not generating 2nd material.

Heyyo.

Today I created a destructible material out of a mesh I’d put together quickly. Usually, the destructible would automatically generate a new material for the new surfaces. I’ve not had any problems with other meshes I’ve made, and not done anything differently (that I know of), but for this one mesh, no new material is popping up. I’ve tried saving the mesh and reopening the DM editor thingy, I’ve tried closing the editor and starting it again, nothing seems to be working. Manually adding a 2nd material doesn’t work and it just disappears when I save the DM.

The mug was made in Unreal itself as a BSP converted to mesh - it’s how I’ve been making all my meshes because I don’t care for learning another program at this point. I’ve not had any problems with meshes made in the same way before.

I have what I think is the same issue in 4.11.2 - mesh created using BSPs is not rendering properly, i.e. rendering the material much lighter than static meshes with the same material

any ideas, anyone? Ill try with a mesh made outside the editor

ah actually in my case it was the other meshes not rendering (also created with bsp) - not the destructible!

See the answer for this thread, I believe that is what you’re writing about.

You may also have holes because of the shape of your mesh, so read through the Destructible Troubleshooting Guide.
