UE4 OnComponentHit while zero movement

Hey there
I just come over a situation while trying to learn ue4
If I have a Cube that i place on the ground, the onhitcomponent(staticmesh) will be called for about 30-40 times. Why is this so. If i drop the cube from the sky, the onhit event will be called when it it hits the ground(which make sense to me), but it will also be called multiple times when it seems to be laying still on the ground. Why is this so ?
