How to setup material that catches wind directional source?
We have a "wind directional source" actor in UE4. Which affects speedtree very nicely and a proper way to manage a global wind. But there is no single word in official docs pages about this actor and how to use them inside custom material. I want to use this actor in my grass and other foliage. Searching through forums and answerhub. Only found some unclear answers:
On the firs question, a stuff says wind affects only APEX clothing and foliage (which has to be set up through the material). But she didn't mention any official page that shows how to set up that material.
On the second link, I see a screenshot with wind material function. But unclear how he uses that and where he plugs the outputs.
Also there is no official documentation about the wind function in material editor.
Please don't refer me the "Simple grass wind". I'm already using that and the result is quite good. But I would like a global control of whole scene's wind direction, speed and strength. Specially "Simple grass wind" doesn't have a direction.
Wind directional source works only with SpeedTree assets. At this point there is no way to use it otherwise. You will have to set up your own wind actor, that would pass data to MPC, that can be later used in material.
