Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Why are objects disappearing when I go near them?

Hi. For some reason, when I go near an object in my level, all of the objects disappear. This only happens when I go near an object that is in front of the player. I have attached images to illustrate this. Does anybody have a solution?

Hello,

  • Could you provide some screenshots of your blueprint setup for moving your characters?

  • How is your level created? Is it streamed in or have you placed the geometry yourself?

  • Would you be able to create a video that shows this issue so I can get a better idea of what's going on?

As for the blueprints, the square character is the only one with blueprints - and they're just basic movement ones.

I created the geometry myself by just placing down the basic cubes and scaling them.

There's a link to a video.

Thanks for the video. This issue looks like something that I'll need to investigate in the project itself. Would you mind zipping up the project and providing me with a link to Dropbox so I can download it? You can provide the link here, or PM it to me on the forums: https://forums.unrealengine.com/member.php?160394-Sean-Flint

After investigating the issue, all you'll need to do is open up MyCharacter, select the Spring Arm component, and move it up slightly. The spring arm was causing a camera clipping issue based on its current position, and moving it up slightly resolved the issue.

Have a great day
