Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Error X3004 Issue

So I am currently trying to set up a material function below so that I can override all the materials with one general material using a material collection, I was following a tutorial and I have set it up exactly like the tutorial but I've got this lovely error message. [SM5] Material.usf(1563,27): error X3004 undeclared identifier 'Local10'

Hello conorsully,

Can you provide me with a link to the tutorial so I can follow along as well to figure out what could be causing this error message?

So I followed the tutorial and was able to reproduce the issue on my end as well. I have gone ahead and entered a bug report for the issue, UE-33649. Once the issue has been addressed by our engineers, the fix will be added to the release notes for fixed issues within an upcoming full engine or hotfix release.

Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.

Hi Andrew,

I also run into that issue. Is there any workaround to use it in 4.12.5?

Thank you

Unfortunately, I do not know of a workaround at the moment. You can check this in 4.13 Preview 2 though to verify the fix made is working. Below is a link to the issue on the public tracker page.
