Saving causes Actor count and File size to increase

Saving causes actor counts and file sizes to increase by about 4 byte each time.

I have a basic art level that is over 540MB.
This is also happening on some other projects as well as an empty basic level.

Display Actor Count > Save. Increases by 1.
Hiding the level will show the actual count.
I have a level that displays 630+ actors, but when I hide it, it shows only around 230.

Hello

I was able to reproduce this memory increase that you are experiencing. However, I was not able to reproduce the increase in the number of actors. Could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?

Rudy,
Thanks for the quick reply.

Open Level Tab > View Options > Display Actor Count, Click ‘Save Level’ Icon.
Notice the Actor Count increases.

I also noticed that there are some empty Group Actors visible in the World Outliner, which may or may not be a part of this, just throwing it out there, mein brotato.

Hello

I was able to reproduce this issue on our end after follow the steps above. I have written up a report and I have submitted it to the developers for further consideration. Feel free to check the link below for future updates on this issue.

Link: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-33794)

The link above is for the actor count appearing to display the wrong count. The second part of the issue that you were reporting (dealing with the memory going up), this is to be expected. If you would like, you could try deleting your saved file. A new one will be generated when opening the project again. As a note however, you will lose any backup files that were automatically generated.

Make it a great day

Thanks Rudy.

The file I am referring to is the umap level file, not a save file.
