Important factors for physics "ball spin"?

I have a ball, which is controlled by physics, and i want it to behave as accurately as possible, so i have been tweaking the properties of it. Its behavior after impact (in regards to spin) doesn’t seem to change much, no matter what i do. It does spin a little, but not like i would expect. Can someone tell me what i should focus on or if i am missing something logically?

default friction for a physics material is .7, so i started there for the contact surface, and then increased it to 5, and then up to 300 (not much change in response). Mass on the ball has been both 100 and 1, and it seems to behave the same.

i have angular dampening at .3, although it has moved around quite a bit.

I think the problem is that i can’t figure out what these numbers relate to mathematically in the sim, so i don’t know the correct range/magnitude.
