Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

"myProject.dll" Missing when creating project

Hi, I wanted to start coding in UE4 instead of using blueprints so I installed VS with all the required extras, however when I try to create a new project I get this error message

The project could not be compiled. Would you like to open it in Visual Studio?

Running C:/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/4.11/Engine/Binaries/DotNET/UnrealBuildTool.exe MyProject2 Development Win64 -project="C:/Users/Paul Dodsworth/Documents/Unreal Projects/MyProject2/MyProject2.uproject" -editorrecompile -progress -noubtmakefiles -NoHotReloadFromIDE -2015 @progress push 5% Parsing headers for MyProject2Editor Running UnrealHeaderTool "C:\Users\Paul Dodsworth\Documents\Unreal Projects\MyProject2\MyProject2.uproject" "C:\Users\Paul Dodsworth\Documents\Unreal Projects\MyProject2\Intermediate\Build\Win64\MyProject2Editor\Development\UnrealHeaderTool.manifest" -LogCmds="loginit warning, logexit warning, logdatabase error" -Unattended -WarningsAsErrors -installed Reflection code generated for MyProject2Editor in 3.7904063 seconds @progress pop Performing 7 actions (2 in parallel) [2/7] Resource PCLaunch.rc PCH.MyProject2.h.cpp [3/7] Resource ModuleVersionResource.rc.inl MyProject2.generated.cpp MyProject2GameMode.cpp C:\Users\Paul Dodsworth\Documents\Unreal Projects\MyProject2\Intermediate\Build\Win64\UE4Editor\Inc\MyProject2\MyProject2.generated.cpp: error C4599: '/IC:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\VC\INCLUDE': command line argument number 248 does not match precompiled header C:\Users\Paul Dodsworth\Documents\Unreal Projects\MyProject2\Source\MyProject2\MyProject2GameMode.cpp: error C4599: '/IC:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\VC\INCLUDE': command line argument number 248 does not match precompiled header MyProject2.cpp C:\Users\Paul Dodsworth\Documents\Unreal Projects\MyProject2\Source\MyProject2\MyProject2.cpp: error C4599: '/IC:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\VC\INCLUDE': command line argument number 248 does not match precompiled header -------- End Detailed Actions Stats ----------------------------------------------------------- ERROR: UBT ERROR: Failed to produce item: C:\Users\Paul Dodsworth\Documents\Unreal Projects\MyProject2\Binaries\Win64\UE4Editor-MyProject2.dll Total build time: 48.10 seconds

From what I have managed to find it says I should build it in VS however VS doesn't launch when I start the create the project.

Did you make a C++ project? What did you do before you tried top open it?

Nope, I get this error when I clicked create project (C++, blank code and no starter content), the project does show up in the saved projects tab, however when I click on it, it says it needs to be rebuilt and when I do that I get more errors
