Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Help with movements!! @Edit:

Hello!

I'm studying about LedgeGrab through tutorials, used in engines passed (4.8-9 - by Crocopede) and I was able to use it in the most current version of the engine (4.12.5). I would like to know how to fix this error shown below on image: What I want to do is that character climb on top of the Ramp, but he won't go up. Just climb on the air, not the Ramp. How to fix it?

I do not know how you do that but you must set movement mode to flying for those animations which move along Z axis and at the end of the animation set it to walking again using a notify or something.

you can access to movement mode from your character movement component

what was the result? what happens with flying mode?

Flying mode is there. Sorry, because it's in Portuguese. -> Flying = Voo. xD

The character don't go up properly on the ramp, but in the air. =/

Not mixamo. I'm using animations from Crocopede work. http://www.crocopede.com/free-stuff

there are lots of things involved there and I can't realize where you have done wrong

avatar image Tulk Aug 05 '16 at 12:22 AM

=/

I'm guessing it's in the animation persona. Idk.

Remembering that this tutorial is of 4.8 version. Do it in 4.12.5 version is really different

I am sorry that I couldn't help :((((

Do you know another way to do this? And, what inherit of Character Movement Component from Cast?

I think I found the error. Is on Component Move To (Mover Componente Para). Target Location and Rotation. Either that or Persona.

I have implemented a much simpler climbing system using mixamo animations for myself.

with mixamo animations moving up and down is done by the animation itself and you wont have to change Z axis. but you have to edit those animations yourself to make them ready to use with UE4. things like adding root bone to them which I do with Maya.

there is a tutorial to get started with mixamo in UE4 using Mayalink text

does it work now?

avatar image Tulk Aug 05 '16 at 12:55 AM

Not yet. I'm not so good with vector rotation. xD

avatar image Tulk Aug 05 '16 at 10:08 PM

I finally did it. Its Work! Was Root Motion xD. I'm trying now to back movements to normal after the play anim montage.. Work in Progress =)
