HTC Vive Headset Not Connecting to Packaged VR Game

Hey guys! I have a VR game that works in editor, and when I package it, it works on my computer, but when I sent it to someone else (who I dont think has UE4 installed), the game will load and show the level, but the headset will not activate.

Is there something special I need to do to get it to work? It’s not making sense.

Thank you!

Hey Scott,

Could you provide me with a copy of the packaged game? We’d like to test it out with our Vive to see if we are able to run it on our end.

You can zip up the folder, upload it to dropbox, and provide me with a link through PM on the forums: https://forums.unrealengine.com/member.php?160394-Sean-Flint

Any follow up on this?

Just to be sure; could it be that the other one has steamvr AND the oculus runtime installed? if so, you may run into issues, where the oculus driver tries to take over.

For this you can change your baseengine.ini:

[HMDPluginPriority]
; Since SteamVR also works with the Oculus Rift, give priority to the native Oculus plugin before trying SteamVR
OculusRift=20
SteamVR=10

Thanks for the information indygoof.
