some materials show black...

Would you be able to provide a bit more information such as:

are you using a default material?
do all objects with that material appear black?
If you put a different material on the mesh does it show properly?
Have you tried opening the material and reapplying it so that it recompiles the shaders?

Thanks for your response. I tried many different materials (UE default materials) on those objects that showed black. I think there is something wrong with lighting as well, when I rotated my DirectionalLight some materials started to show up on the objects (such as the drawer handles) and some(umbrella in the rack) not.
Your assistance is highly appreciated,

Would you be able to provide me with one of your meshes? Im thinking possibly your normals are wonky, but I would like to investigate further.

I couldn’t upload the fbx or 3ds but this image shows the normals and UVs of desk-knobs object, for instance…I normally create my objects in CAD or 3dsmax.

Thank you so much for your time again …

Unfortunately I cant think of much to do if I cant take a look at the FBX myself (I use blender) however you might try reimporting and tell it to recompute normals and tangents. If you could upload one of the meshes via dropbox, you could shoot me the link via PM if reimporting does not work for you. Also does it do this in a fresh default scene?

Huh, that’s odd, well glad it works!

All problem got solved with rescaling the object in 3dsmax and reimporting it into UE afterwards. Thank you so much for your assistance Noah,
Appreciate that…
