Wrong actor lightmap resolution displayed after build

Hi,

I just observed something odd.

When you have a BSP brush and modify the lightmap resolution in the details panel, the field shows a zero value after the lighting is built.
Deselecting and reselecting the brush shows the correct value again.

So I guess its more like a glitch than a real bug, but still a potent source for confusion…

Before build:

and after:

Thanks for checking

Hey Klaus,

I can enter a ticket for this, but I already know that it’ll be backlogged and 6 months to a year it’ll be marked as “won’t fix” to clear out the backlog of minor issues.

If you really want the ticket entered I can put it in, but unfortunately not all bugs, especially minor ones like this, will be fixed.

Let me know if you really want it reported.

Tim

Hi Tim,

if it wont get fixed anyway, then dont bother.
Its just hard to judge what you guys would consider “minor”…

I have a handfull more examples where some things dont pan out that well.
Like having the internal pin GUID visible in the pin description in a BP node…
Would that be minor as well?

But maybe I should just report anything I find and let you guys do the filtering

Cheers,
Klaus

Yeah definitely always report! I just wanted to let you know this one really doesn’t affect the light build itself and is more just an annoyance to click off the surface and re-click to see the LM resolution. If the value defaults to 0 every time and that was the actual LM resolution being set, that would definitely be a different story!

Plus there is always the hope of starting Geometry/BSP 2.0 at some point, right?

For things that get marked as minor this is largely up the engineers to decide when they review the tickets. Some systems like BSP and Matinee will only see fixes for a regression in behavior or it causes a crash. These automatically get marked with a higher priority.

Regardless, it’s always good and appreciated that you take the time to report issues.
