Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Landscape Mountains: Snow Workflow?

Hi Epic Games,

i have one last question about your Landscape Mountain Project.

I just wanna know how you did the snow painting.

Did you hand-painted it laboriously or did you use some sort of algorithm or logic workflow?

Here is a picture. Awesome work by the way.

Thanks in advance.

I belive they did the map with World Machine where you can define different zones with color channels so called "Splatmaps". You can assign different slope angles for different grounds and have an additional "flowmap" output. The flowmap is responsible for the thin snow lines you see. Just google splatmaps or watch a World Machine tutorial to understand what I'm writing about.

I hope this helps.

Sorry for my late reply. I have investigated this topic a little bit more and you are absolutely right. For those who needs the workflow, its quite simple: Create a Splatmap in World Machine and import this file to the desired Landscape Layer Info.
