Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How To Stop UE4 From Non Responding While creating A BluePrint?

Hi, I new to using this engine and came a across a issue. Every time I try to use a Blueprint and select what I need it becomes non responding. Im using a MSI laptop and i was wondering how I could fix it because everything else seems to work except the blueprints.

Hi, What do you mean by "use a Blueprint" and what becomes non responding? Is it the whole engine that freezes?

Everytime I try to create one it becomes non responding and the engine freezes and i also try to import a mesh and it did the same thing.

I think I understand your problem and am experiencing the same thing since the latest Windows 10 update (yesterday). I have not been encountering it from Blueprint creation (haven't been able to try yet), but rather when attempting to create a new material in the content browser.

The pulsing green icon in the top right stops. Nothing in the editor updates visibly, but it's all still there and responsive to hovering and clicking. But you can't see what you're doing because the tooltip and/or any window that you open is blank or filled with unusable nonsense.

I don't really know how to describe this any better, or know what to Google at this point, and it's been a super frustrating day of no development. I'm currently uninstalling Unreal and going to reinstall it. If it doesn't fix the problem, I will be making a video/screenshots later tonight.

I just updated to the latest Win10 and haven't experience any issues at all. I've test to create a couple of different blueprints, materials and particle system in both 4.11 and 4.12. Nothing weird happens, no freeze, no nothing.

I guess a reinstall is a good start, or maybe test your project on a different machine if possible.

I try reinstalling and still have the same issue as before. I'm not sure why everything else works but using blueprints. The blueprints freezes at pick parent class and the whole engine freezes and become non responding. I am going to try to reinstall again hopefully it works.
