Issue with root motion character not following paths

Hello community!

I am having a small issue with a character that uses root motion to move.

As you can see from the gif below, when a destination is selected with the mouse cursor, the unit moves straight forward. it appears he isn’t being rotated to properly follow the path.

My anim bp has full root motion enabled.

I am using Controller->MoveToLocation( dest ) function to move my unit.

Please help!
