Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Is it best practice to upgrade Android using CodeWorks for Android 1R4 vs Android sdk manager?

I understand that CodeWorks for Android 1R4 is for installation but should it also be used for updates in place of the Android Sdk Manager?

I haven't read anywhere to use it for updates, but I noticed that when I execute the program, it lists the components that need action and those that do not. Previously, I was using the android manager but now I have feeling that the Nvidia CodeWorks for Android Component Manager would be best for updates? Is this best practice for updates?

I would advise using NVIDIA CodeWorks for Android Component Manager: CodeWorks for Android 1R4u2. You can locate CodeWorks here:

  • Binary - EngineInstallLocation\Unreal Engine[EngineVersion]\Engine\Extras\Android

  • GitHub - EngineSyncLocation\UE4\Engine\Extras\Android

Thanks!

The ue4 android startup page says to use 1R4. https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Platforms/Android/GettingStarted/1/index.html I think 1R1 is dated back to ue4.2. I understand it's for install, but looking to find out if I should also use for updates?
