Does Unreal remember financial information after canceling a subscription?

A friend might lend me his debit card to do the initial subscription. After subscribing, he will cancel the subscription. Thus, he never actually shares his financial information with me. However, we were wondering if the financial information was kept or remembered for future uses.

Until the card on the account is replaced, the card is remembered.

But would I be able to use it without my friends access/permission? Would he have to add in most of the information again, like CCV, expire dates, address, etc?

If your friend’s card is stored on your account, everything except the CVV is stored. CVV is not stored due to PCI (payment card industry - banks and card brands) guidelines/regulations. However, the card stored on your account can be transacted on for the subscription you signed up.

As a merchant, we cannot allow or accept transactions from cards used for one account but does not belong to the account owner.

With that said, we do plan on adding gifting features so this type of transaction can be done safely and in accordance to consumer protection laws, ecommerce best practices, and abide by banking and PCI regulations.

If you have further questions, please email billing@unrealengine.com and ask for Grant Wei.

Thanks for the detailed answer.
