Can i export the default 3rd person character to 3ds max?

I am new to UE4 and 3DS MAX, how would i go about exporting the default 3rd person character to 3ds?

If possible, would I be able to add animations to this model then import it back into UE4.

Sorry if this is an obvious question and thank you for taking the time to read this question.

goto one animation asset at will, and open the animation editor, and right click at one animation asset in the asset pannel, then click EXPORT, select YES when it asks you whether to export the mesh with the animation.

good luck!

Hi,

it’s actually very easy:

In the asset browser right-click on the 3rd person character you’d like to export → Asset Actions → Export. This will give you an fbx-File that you may then open in 3ds max

Hope I could help.

Best regards

Thanks Chownas… I’ve been working with unreal and Maya for quite a while and I always wondered how to do that but never thought it’s that easy
