Are there a max number of emitters for cascade?

I am trying to create a fairly complex particle system and have created 36 emitters in cascade. I created these fairly successfully but whenever I try editing anyone of the modules, the program immediately freezes (this is even if I try to reduce the amount of particles). I checked my Ram usage while this is happening and it is steadily between 1 and 3 GB of RAM. I also have had the viewport off the entire time to ensure that wouldn’t slow it down. Actually running the particle system in the level works fine with no lag too. My system also has 32 GB of RAM so I feel like this shouldn’t be an issue, especially when Unreal is only using 2 of them on average.
